Sunshine Coast - Day 1

There's not much that will get us all out of bed before sunrise, but a holiday certainly will.  My Dad had moved to Queensland during the second lockdown period and when Queensland's borders had extended their closure.  He was also celebrating a big 75th birthday.  My brother and I had planned to go and visit him and Tracey but decided to take the whole gang for a bit of a family reunion holiday.  It turns out 2015 was the last time we were all together, so prepare yourself for many family photos.

Four fifteen am wake up call for an early flight to Brisbane.

Take off time.  We're all looking a big bleary eyed.

Good morning sun.

Our flight was at 6.45am and took off at 7.00am.  It was a quick flight into Brisbane, arriving at 8.05am.  We had hired a car to drive to the Sunshine Coast, which is just a little over an hour.  We stopped for breakfast along the way and Big Mister took a nap in the car.  These days, due to his long legs, I'm relegated to the back seat.

The weather was a little overcast but certainly warmer than Newcastle.  On arrival, it didn't take long for the kids to jump in the pool.  Dad and I sat around and caught up, went out to get supplies for lunch, and generally just lazed about enjoying that first day of holidays.  Tracey came home from work and more catch ups, then dinner and an early bed.  The next morning my brother and family were due to arrive.

It was definitely a too early start to the day for Big Mister.

We made it.  Harry was very pleased to see us.

Poolside shenanigans.

Poolside mojito delivered by the pool boy.
