Beach days

We've had such a warm summer, some days have been incredibly hot.  There is no better way to cool off than a trip to the beach.  Michael likes to head out deep so he can body surf, Henry has the confidence to head out too but is yet to master the body surf, Milly is happy to just jump in the waves, and Buster isn't a strong swimmer so likes to stick to the shallows.  As for myself, I loved the beach when I was a kid.  I loved catching waves in a blow up tyre or boogie board.  These days I don't enjoy the cold water.  I'm happy to stay in the shallows with Buster, cool down with an ocean breeze or just walk up and down the beach.

A little trip to visit the brother

Milly and I had a little weekend trip down to Sydney to visit my brother and his family.  We took the train down and embarked at Chatswood to meet up with Corin, Yin and Casper, before then heading over to Manly/Fairlight were they live.

We spent the weekend talking, walking through the streets revisiting some of the houses Michael and I used to live in before morning up north, and Milly and Casper played and chatted non stop.  It was such a relaxing time away and it coincided with Casper's birthday, so we were fortunate to share his birthday cake with him.  I think Manly is still one of my favourite places.  Although the weather was overcast, it still has the best beach in Sydney and walks around the harbour.

A big thank you to Corin, Yin and Casper for hosting and looking after us.
