While the big boys are away, Buster will play

While Henry and Michael were camping at Fingal Bay, Buster got to have a sleepover at Nanoo's house.  He loves spending alone time with his Nanoo.  He knows he has a twinkle in his eye and super cute dimple that melts hearts and can get him what he wants.  He is an emotional manipulator of his Nanoo (and all of us, let's be honest).

However, he does love getting out and about with Nanoo.  First off was Friday night dinner at the Sushi Train.

Saturday was spent at the local art gallery, followed by treats at the gallery cafe and playing in the park.  He also spent a few hours running Nanoo around the tennis court while he perfected his shots.  He also seemed quite proud that he may have injured her back in the process.  Don't worry, Nanoo is fine, although exhausted from her time on court.

He was going to spend two nights at Nanoo's house but decided he wanted to come home early, much to Milly's disgust, as she was hoping for a girls only weekend.

As for me and Milly, our time was taken up with driving around to drama lessons and rehearsals for the theatre production she is currently cast in.  I was also busy volunteering in the costume department.  It's less than three weeks until curtains up and show time.

Fingal Bay

About 50km north from us is the beautiful Port Stephens area and a litte township called Fingal Bay. Last weekend, in a preseason catchup, a camping trip was had with some of Henry's soccer team.  This was a big boys only trip, with myself, Milly and Buster staying home.

Like any good camping trip, it involved a lot of sitting around and eating, drinking, and chatting.  This was interspersed with swimming at the beach.

Needless to say, Henry had a good time hanging with his mates and having his Dad to himself.

Tennis

Look who's taken up the great game of tennis!  I'm so excited.  The more family members who play, the more chances there are of us having a decent hit up.

Back to school

Above is a picture of Milly and Buster taken the morning of their first day back at school.  Look how happy they are.  Milly in her final year of primary and a prefect.  Buster in Year 4.  I don't have a photo of Henry on his first day.  There wasn't time and by mid morning the school had called and asked me to collect him.  He'd been sick.  Vomit down his uniform.  A lovely way for him to begin Year 8 in high school.

They have all now been at school for seven weeks.  Term 1 is nearing completion and it has been a busy few months.  The high school transition process has already begun for Milly.  We've had lots of discussions on which high school she'd like to attend.  The performing arts school was an option but she has now decided against it.  Instead she wants to go to the same high school has her older brother and attend the performing arts program offered there.  We have an application to complete and she has an audition to prepare for before she is accepted.

Milly is also busy with rehearsals for her theatre's next production of Madagascar Junior.  Performances start mid April

Henry has assignments and exams all due this week and next.  He'll be playing soccer again this winter and his training starts this week.

Buster is just loving life and enjoying his new class and teacher.
