Little family day out

A couple of weeks ago we found ourselves with a free weekend.  No markets for me, no house maintenance jobs for Michael, no birthday parties to attend for the kids, and no visitors.  It's rare, but it feels good to have no plans.  So we thought why not have a little family day out and take the kids to the museum and out for lunch.

We headed off and the kids were excited.  Our local museum has lots of interactive science things to do and they ran around having a ball.  There was also an old tram they could climb aboard and other displays from "the olden days" that held their interests for less than five seconds.

It wasn't long before whines of "I'm hungry" could be heard, so before our little day out could start turning into a little day out of regrets we hit the cafe for some refreshments.

With tummys full and thirsts quenched, we went for a walk around the outside of the museum where there are lots of murals, perfect for getting some photos.

All in all a nice little family day out.

Henry san

Look who just got graded and his next belt in karate.

We were two proud parents watching Henry go through his kata moves, punches, blocks and even some sparring.  He has shown real commitment to attending lessons twice a week after school and is still determined to get his black belt.  We are behind him 100%.
